The IRE is crucial and a central component to ingesting healthy data into the CMDB. It ensures accurate and consistent data by identifying and reconciling configuration items (CIs) from multiple data sources. The IRE helps maintain the integrity of the CMDB by reducing duplicate CIs and controlling updates to CIs when multiple data sources, such as Discovery, Service Mapping, Service Graph Connectors, and REST integrations are used to create and update CI records.
